SPICED DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE image

Yield 10-12 servings

Number Of Ingredients 12

Mix: 2 1/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon allspice
1/4 teaspoon cloves
Cream: 1/2 cup butter 1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups brown sugar
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup sour milk (add drop of vinegar to sour)
Melt: 1 1/2 oz. unsweetened chocolate with 1/2 cup boiling water.

Steps:

  • Mix all together. Bake 375° in two 9" pans.
