- In a shallow dish, combine the first 6 ingredients. Cut steak into two serving-size pieces; place in dish and turn to coat. Cover; refrigerate for up to 2 hours., Meanwhile, in a small ovenproof skillet, cook onions in 1 teaspoon oil over medium heat for 10-15 minutes or until onions are golden brown, stirring occasionally. Add peppers and garlic; cook 2 minutes longer. Remove and keep warm., Drain and discard marinade. In the same skillet over medium heat, cook steak in 1 teaspoon oil for 3-4 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°; medium-well, 145°)., Transfer to a broiler pan coated with cooking spray. Spoon onion mixture over steaks. In a small bowl, combine the bread crumbs, cheese and remaining oil; sprinkle over tops. Broil 3-4 in. from the heat for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
