SOUTH INDIAN PEPPER CRAB image

Number Of Ingredients 9

Dungeness Crab pieces - about 2 lbs
Red Onions - 2 big ones or 3 medium ones
Garlic cloves - 4
Curry leaves (optional) - 10
Black pepper corn - 1 tbs
Fennel seads - I Tsp
Lemon juice from - 1 lemon
Cilantro leaves - Handful chopped
Salt to taste

Steps:

  • Grind pepper and fennel seads. Slice the onions with medium thickness. Chop garlic. Heat pan with olive oil. Saute garlic. Add onions and saute until it lighly browns. Add the pepper/fennel mix. Make chiffonade of curry leaves and add , if you are using them. Saute for two more minutes. Add crab pieces. Stir for 5 minutes. Add salt to taste. Keep on low temperature for 30 - 40 minutes until onions form a think gravy. Stir in the cilantro and serve with crusty bread or rice.
