SLUG SALAD image

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 Tbs. Unsalted Butter
4 oz. Slivered Almonds
4 Tbs. brown sugar
3 Heads of butter lettuce torn into bite size pieces
2 cans (16 oz. each) mandarin oranges (drained)
1 small red onion thinly sliced.
1 cup dried cranberries
6 oz. crumbled blue cheese
Girard's Champagne salad dressing to taste.

Steps:

  • Melt the butter in a skillet, then toss in the almonds. Saute for 1 to 2 minutes, until lightly browned. Add the brown sugar and toss to coat. Immediately spread the almonds on a baking sheet. Let cool and harden. Toss the remaining salad ingredients with the almonds and dressing. Serves 12
