Shrimp...Cajun Style image

My dad used to make his dish when he was still alive. He told me he got it from an Army buddy who lived in Louisianna.

Number Of Ingredients 17

MARINADE
1/2 cup(s) olive oil
2 clove(s) garlic, chopped
2 tablespoon(s) cajun spice
2 tablespoon(s) soy sauce
2 tablespoon(s) parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon(s) lemon juice
1 teaspoon(s) brown sugar
1 pound(s) shrimp, peeled and deveined
HOME MADE CAJUN SPICE
1 tablespoon(s) onion powder
1 tablespoon(s) white pepper
1 tablespoon(s) garlic powder
1 tablespoon(s) ground mustard
1 tablespoon(s) paprika
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) celery seed
1 1/2 teaspoon(s) thyme

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, combine the ingredients for the marinade. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for several hours.
  • Preheat grill or oven to 350 degrees. If griiling, place shrimp on skewers and grill for about ten minutes until shrimp are no longer transparent, turning once. If baking, place in a baking pan with some marinade and bake for fifteen minutes, turning once until shrimp is no longer transparent.
  • Can be served alone or over rice or hot buttered spaghetti. I have enclosed my homemade Cajun Spice recipe for thoses of you who like to make your own.
