Number Of Ingredients 7

4 1/2 cups sugar
1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
3 (12 ounce) packages chocolate chips
1/2 pound margarine, melted
7 ounces marshmallow cream
2 cups nuts
1 teaspoon vanilla

Steps:

  • Mix 4 1/2 cups sugar with 1 can evaporated milk. Boil 7 to 8 minutes, stirring often (rolling boil). Cream together in a large bowl; chocolate chips, marshmallow cream, and melted margarine. Pour hot sugar mixture over chocolate mixture. After chocolate has melted, add nuts, vanilla, blend well, pour into buttered pans and chill in refrigerator. Cut into squares before firm. NOTE: This is the original See's fudge recipe: Given to Amy DeVore by Emma Julian c. 1930, this is "supposedly" the original recipe for See's Fudge, produced by the See's Candy Company, Los Angeles. Emma allegedly worked for See's stealing the recipes, one ingredient at a time, and later owned her own candy store.
