SEARED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS image

2-3 lg portobello mushrooms, cap cleaned and gills scraped, sliced 1 1/2 in strips
2 Tb lime juice
1 1/2 Tb Worcestershire sauce
2-4 pinch black pepper
2-3 pinch sea salt
3-4 TB olive or coconut oil
4-5 Tb potato starch/cornstarch

Steps:

  • In large dish combine lime juice and worcest. sauce. Add mushrooms, season with Pepper and marinate for 20 min, flipping after 10. In large dish combine starch and salt. In non-stick frying pan on high, heat 3 Tb oil. Coat mushrooms in starch, tapping lightly to remove clumps. Carefully add to pan and sear one side 4-5 min, until brown and crispy. Flip and cook 3-4 min.adding more oil if needed, until crispy.
