SAVORY/SWEET STEAMED DUNGENESS CRAB image

Yield 6 or 4 with leftovers for an omlet the next am!

Number Of Ingredients 10

6 Dungeness crabs ( killed & cleaned)
3/4 bottle of dry white wine
6 lemons cut in half
2 large sprigs of rosemary
6 cloves crushed garlic
2 tablespoons of sugar
2 med white onions chopped coursely
1/4 cup of water
2 tsp of Old Bay Seasoning
1 tsp of salt

Steps:

  • In a large boiler pour in the wine and water Squeeze the juice out of the lemons into the liquid and throw the rinds into the pot Add the onions, rosmary, garlic,sugar,salt and old bay to the liquid Bring mixture to a rolling boil boil until liquid just covers the tops of lemon rinds. Add crab sections and cover tightly After every two or three minutes grab the pot with lid still on and give it a good shake, to reposition the crab sections and distribute the flavorings. Steam for a total of 10 to 12 minutes until the crab is a bright red color. Serve with drawn butter, crab crackers, and a clean bowl for the shells. Bon appetit!!! Yum Yum
