A quick and easy recipe for ground beef instead of hamburgers. Not sure where I got this recipe, have had it for ever. I have added the recipe for Creamy Gravy Mix to the Directions. The patties can be served without the "Gravy" but is oh so good "Smothered" and served with Tossed Salad.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 lb hamburger
1 teaspoon onion, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons nonfat milk
parsley

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients and form into patties.
  • Brown under medium Broiler flame for about 10 minutes, turning once, or cook in a hot skillet, turning frequently. (Broiling will make slightly patties less "fat".).
  • In medium mixing bowl combine powdered milk, flour, and salt. Cut in butter.
  • until crumbly.
  • In saucepan, combine 1/2 cup Creamy Gravy Mix to make Medium White Sauce to which additional finely chopped browned onions have been added.
  • NOTE: Creamy Gravy Mix
  • Recipe Makes 3 cups of mix, uses only 1/2 cup).
  • 1 1/3 cup Non Fat Dry Milk Powder.
  • 3/4 cup All-Purpose Flour.
  • 1 teaspoon salt.
  • 1/2 cup Butter (I use Brummel and Brown yogurt butter).
  • Serve Salisbury Patties topped with Creamy Gravy, sprinkled with optional Parsley.
