Round Steak Pizzaiola image

This pizzaiola is an easy meal anyone can make. Thinly sliced round steak is cooked with a well seasoned homemade tomato sauce filled with Italian flavors. Round steak is great for recipes that are braised (cooked in liquid) because it becomes tender as it's slowly cooked. Serve over pasta with an extra sprinkle of Romano cheese...

2 lb thin round steak, cut into 2-inch pieces
2 Tbsp olive oil
1 c tomato sauce
1/2 c water
2 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp parsley
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp oregano
1/8 tsp basil
2/3 c Romano cheese

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350. Combine the tomato sauce, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and herbs in a bowl.
  • 2. Add olive oil, steak, seasoned tomato sauce, and cheese to a pan.
  • 3. Cook on top of stove until it boils.
  • 4. Then, put in an oven-proof baking dish.
  • 5. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes.
