Rich Vanilla Chip Cake image

This is a wonderfully easy rich and moist bundt cake. It is so full of flavor that no one has ever guessed it is so easy and starts with a cake mix. A friend of mine says she uses the recipe for a blueberry(leave out the chips) bundt cake and it is VERY good as well. I do believe this is/was originally a McCormicks recipe because...

Time 1h5m

Number Of Ingredients 9

1 box yellow cake mix
1 box instant vanilla pudding mix(3 1/2 oz)
1 c sour cream
1/2 c water
1/2 c vegetable oil
4 large eggs
1 Tbsp vanilla extract
1 c mini chocolate chips
vanilla butter glaze to top or sprinkle with confectioners sugar.

Steps:

  • 1. Beat all ingredients, except chips, in large bowl with mixer on low just to moisten, Then beat on medium for 2 minutes.
  • 2. Stir in chips. Pour into greased and floured 12 cup bundt pan.
  • 3. Bake in 350* oven for 50 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes then invert cake onto wire rack to cool completely.
  • 4. I have topped this with many different glazes...the easiest is a prepared tub icing heated and drizzled over the cake or just sprinkle with confectioners sugar....BUT my favorite is a Vanilla butter glaze which I will post also.
