Steps:
- 1. Melt butter in a large, deep skillet or Dutch Oven.
- 2. Add rice, pasta, carrots and onions and saute until onion is soft and rice begins to turn golden brown. Add garlic during last minute.
- 3. Stir in broth, salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder.
- 4. Cover and simmer on low for approximately 20 minutes until liquid is absorbed. Add parsley and check seasonings. Sometimes you have to add more salt depending on how salty your chicken broth is.
- 5. Place in serving dish and top with toasted almonds right before serving.
