Pulled Pork and Apple Grilled Cheese Sandwiches image

This sandwich has so much flavor that you cannot wait for the next bite! The sweet & savory flavors really have a great balance. This is definitely not your regular grilled cheese!

8 slice french bread, thin
3 Tbsp butter, softened
1 apples, granny smith - peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp nutmeg

16 slice white sharp cheddar
1 c leftover bbq pulled pork
2 thin sliced red onion rounds

Steps:

  • 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place aluminum foil over a baking sheet. Spray generously with Pam. Grate cinnamon and nutmeg in a medium plastic container.
  • 2. Add sugar and sliced apples. Shake until apple slices are evenly coated.
  • 3. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until tender.
  • 4. Warm pulled pork to room temperature in microwave or on stove top.
  • 5. Assemble your sandwich by spreading pulled pork on bread slice. Top with red onion slices, spiced apple slices and white cheddar.
  • 6. Spread butter on outside of sandwich. Grill with pork layer closest to the pan until golden. Carefully turn and grill until golden and cheese has melted.
