Number Of Ingredients 12

2 C brown sugar
1 C (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 egg, beaten
1 1/2 C foour
1/4 t salt
1/2 t baking powder
1 C chopped pecans
1 t vanilla
Praline Icing
1 C brown sugar
1/2 C heavy cream
1 C sifted powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Cream together brown sugar and butter. Add beaten egg and mix well. Stir in flour, salt, and baking powder and mix until blended. Add pecans and vanilla and spread mixture into prepared pan. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes. To make icing, combine brown sugar and cream in a small saucepan. Heat to a boil, stirring constantly. Cook, stirring constantly, for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar. Spread icing over the baked mixture while it is still warm. Cook completely and cut into 2 inch bars.
