Potatoes and Gravy with cheese image

Number Of Ingredients 8

4-6 large potatoes
1 can(s) evaporated milk
2-3 tablespoon(s) butter, softened
1-3 tablespoon(s) corn starch
2-3 tablespoon(s) salt
2-3 tablespoon(s) pepper
4-6 slice(s) kraft cheese
3/4 cup(s) water

Steps:

  • Wash and peel potatoes. Slice in thick chunks
  • Place in pot. Cover with cold water Add salt
  • Bring to boil. Let cook till slightly softened. Drain potatoes from pan and place in casserole dish. Take slices of cheese and tear in pieces and cover potatoes with them.
  • To the potato juice left in pot add pepper and butter . Bring to small rolling boil. Till butter is melted. In a small bowl mix together the cornstarch and water.
  • To simmering potato juice add the can of milk. Let cook 2 minutes. Now take the cornstarch rue and slowly stir it in the juice till slightly thickened. Let cook 2 minutes. Pour over potatoes and cheese. Serve hot.
