Pork Wontons image

A recipe I received from my sister many years ago.

Number Of Ingredients 17

3/4 lb ground pork
1 egg. beaten
1 tsp sesame oil
2 Tbsp soy sauce
1 clove garlic, minced
4 Tbsp green onions, minced
2 tsp corn starch
peanut or vegetable oil
WONTON SAUCE
2/3 c brown sugar
2/3 c rice wine vinegar
2/3 c water
1/2 c ketchup
1 1/2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 tsp worcestershire sauce
2 tsp ginger, minced
2 tsp cornstarch

Steps:

  • 1. Combine pork, egg, oil, soy sauce, garlic, onion, cornstarch. Fill wontons and fry in hot oil. 1 - 1 ½ minutes, each side.
  • 2. Can be frozen - do not defrost. From frozen state, bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.
  • 3. Sauce: Combine sugar and vinegar in sauce pan, bring to boil. Reduce heat, simmer 5 minutes. Add rest of ingredients - simmer 15 more minutes.
