Peasant Bread image

This is a recipe I got from Beth Hensperger's cookbook "The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook." I love this cookbook. This makes a 1.5 pound loaf. The prep and cooking time is a guess. It all depends on your machine.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 1/8 cups water
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 1/4 cups flour
2 teaspoons sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 1/2 teaspoons instant yeast

Steps:

  • Add ingredients according to your breadmachine's instructions.
  • Set the cycle for dough and let it go.
  • When the dough cycle ends set it for the French Bread cycle and dark crust.
  • After baking, cool before slicing.
