Peanut Cornflake or Rice Krispie Bars (School Cafeteria) image

When my children were young I worked at the school cafeteria for awhile and these were a hit with the kids, so simple and ingredients you already have on hand.

PRE-MIX IN BLENDER:
2 c peanut butter
8 c rice krispies or corn flakes
BRING TO BOIL, STIRRING CONSTANTLY
2 c sugar
1 c karo syrup
PUT PEANUT BUTTER AND CORN FLAKES OR RICE KRISPIES IN SMALL MIXER AFTER MIXED PUT IN LARGE BOWL AND
POUR SUGAR AND KARO OVER PEANUT BUTTER AND CORN FLAKES
MIX QUICKLY AND SPREAD IN 13X9 PAN AND CUT INTO SQUARES
AT ONCE .,, USE ROLLING PIN TO SMOOTH OUT IN PAN
WHEN SET CUT AGAIN BEFORE SEPARATING

Steps:

  • 1. You can put parchment paper in the pan before spreading the cornflake mix in. Also you can add M & M's into the mixture or chocolate chips, etc. You could use rice crispies instead of corn flakes. The kids will love em.
