PEACH UPSIDE DOWN CAKE image

Fresh, canned or frozen, Peaches are good any time of the year, but I have to say there is nothing better than a fresh peach.

Number Of Ingredients 13

1/3 c shortening
2/3 c sugar
2/3 c milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 2/3 c flour
1/8 tsp salt
1/4 tsp almond flavoring
PEACH MIXTURE
1/3 c butter
1 c light brown sugar
1 1/2 c sliced peaches

Steps:

  • 1. Beat together shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and beat well, Pour over peach mixture.
  • 2. Place butter in a 9 by 13 inch baking pan and let butter melt in oven. Sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Add peaches cover with cake batter.
  • 3. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Turn out of pan upside down with peaches facing up.
  • 4. Serve hot or cold with whipped topping or vanilla ice cream.
