PASTA WITH MUSHROOM SAUCE image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 lb penne pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups mushrooms, cleaned, stemmed and chopped. (Choose several types of mushrooms)
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
2 tablespoons chopped Italian parsley
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup dry white wine
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup grated or shaved Parmesan

Steps:

  • 1. Cook the pasta according to the directions on the box. 2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the oil in a large skillet; add the garlic and sauté for 30 seconds. 3. Add the mushrooms and cook for 5-7 minutes. 4. Add the pepper flakes, parsley, and cream and bring to a simmer. 5. Reduce the heat; add wine and simmer for 5-6 minutes or until the sauce begins to thicken. Add salt and pepper to taste. 6. Remove from heat and set aside. 7. Drain the pasta. 8. Transfer the pasta to a serving bowl. Add the mushroom sauce and mix well. 9. Top with the grated or shaved Parmesan and serve immediately.
