Parmesan Crusted Fish Fillets image

I don't remember where I got this recipe, but it's a hit even with my family members who are not particularly fond of fish.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1/2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
1 - egg, beaten
1/2 cup(s) crushed butter-flavored crackers (about 10)
1/4 cup(s) finely grated parmesan cheese
1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon(s) ground black pepper
4-6 - white fish fillets (cod, halibut, tilapia)
2 tablespoon(s) olive oil
- lemon wedges, if desired
- tartar sauce, if desired

Steps:

  • Place flour and egg in separate shallow bowls
  • In another shallow bowl (or zip-lock bag) combine the crackers, cheese, garlic salt and pepper.
  • Dip fillets in the flour, egg, then cracker mixture.
  • In large skillet, cook fillets in oil over medium heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and fish flakes easily with a fork. Serve with lemon and tartar sauce, if desired.
