Parmesan Cheddar Beer Bread image

A simple yet delicious bread recipe. No bread machine required.

Number Of Ingredients 9

3 cups All-purpose Flour
3 Tablespoons Sugar
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 teaspoon Salt
1 cup Scallions, Chopped
4 ounces, weight Cheddar Cheese, Grated
2 ounces, weight Parmesan Cheese, Grated
12 ounces, fluid Beer (amber Ale)
¼ cups Butter, Melted, Divided

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375ºF and grease a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Make a well in the center and add scallions, cheeses and beer. Stir until just combined.
  • Spoon mixture into the greased bread pan. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons butter. Bake for 35 minutes, brush with remaining butter and continue to bake another 20-25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes then remove from pan. Allow to cool completely before cutting.
