Oyster Dressing image

This basic oyster dressing (or stuffing) recipe is a must for many holiday tables.

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 can(s) 8-oz. whole oysters, drained, chopped, and liquid reserved
2 cup(s) herb stuffing mix
2 cup(s) cornbread stuffing mix
1/2 cup(s) celery, chopped
1/2 cup(s) onion, chopped
3/4 cup(s) hot chicken broth

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, combine oysters, stuffing mixes, celery, and onion. Gradually add reserved oyster liquid and chicken broth, stirring to moisten all pieces.
  • Place in ungreased 2-quart casserole dish and bake, covered, for 25 to 30 minutes or until hot. Remove cover and continue baking for an additional 5 to 10 minutes or until top forms a light brown crust.
