These are crispy cookies. Although I make these at Christmas too, I make these in the fall, so they always make me think of cider and hayrides! This is an old fashioned recipe so it does call for lard!

Steps:
- 1. preheat oven to 400. Beat butter and lard together until creamy. Add 1 1/2 cups sugar and beat until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
- 2. Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Add to creamed mixture.
- 3. combine cinnamon and 2 tablespoons sugar together in a small bowl. shape dough into walnut sized balls and roll in cinnamon sugar.
- 4. place balls about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. bake at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
