Old Fashion Sweet Potato Pie image

This is a family favorite created by my sister-in-law who has passed away, but everyone just couldn't wait to taste her Thanksgiving Pies.

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 can(s) sweet potatoes, about 2 cups.
2 - eggs, well beaten
1 1/2 cup(s) sugar
1 teaspoon(s) nutmeg
1 teaspoon(s) salt
1/2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
1/2 cup(s) butter, softened
1 teaspoon(s) vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon(s) lemon extract
1 cup(s) milk, whole

Steps:

  • Mix eggs, sugar, & sweet potatoes. Blend thoroughly.
  • Mix remaining ingredients alternately with the milk.Blend thorougly.
  • Pour into an unbaked pie crust in a 10" dish & bake at 450* for approximately 40 min. Let cool & enjoy.
