This is a old fashion fried apple recipe that was pass down to me from a dear friend. Steps:
- 1. Get all ingredients together.
- 2. DON'T peel apples! Wash and seed apples and slice into thick slices.
- 3. Place apples in water to keep from turning brown.
- 4. Turn burner to medium heat. Melt butter in a large iron skillet.
- 5. When butter is melted, pour apples into the buttered skillet.
- 6. Add sugar on top of the apples.
- 7. Cover and cook for about 10 minutes.
- 8. After 10 minutes, stir with a wooden spoon to combine butter and sugar together, mix well. Re-cover until apples are soft.
- 9. Mix apple juice and cornstarch, stir.
- 10. Add cinnamon.
- 11. Add vanilla, stir well.
- 12. After apples are soft, pour apple juice mixture on top of apples.
- 13. Stir well.
- 14. DON"T COVER. Let simmer for about 15 minutes or until thickened. Add to your favorite dish. DELICIOUS !!!
