No Melt Suet image

This suet will stay together in temperatures up to 115* in the summer months. I use it all year long and all the birds seem to love it ... as do the squirrels.

Number Of Ingredients 7

1 cup(s) lard
1 cup(s) crunchy peanut butter
2 cup(s) quick cooking oatmeal
2 cup(s) yellow cornmeal
1 cup(s) all purpose flour
1/3 cup(s) granulated sugar
1/2 cup(s) ground nuts of your choice

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Press into a sheet pan and chill. Remove from sheet pan and cut into size to fit your suet feeder. If you do not have a suet feeder cut the suet into pieces about 3" x 3". NOTES: If you can get suet from your grocer, have them grind it up for you and use that in place of or 50/50 with the lard. You can double or triple this recipe and freeze your blocks. Trust me, the birds are going to love this and want more! This suet will stay together in temperatures up to 115* in the summer months. I use it all year long and all the birds seem to love it ... as do the squirrels.
