Ninabell's Appetizer Meatballs image

This recipe comes from my mother, who is a fabulous cook. She has made these meatballs for parties and family celebrations for years, and they have become a favourite for potluck buffets. They are so easy and very addictive. Great as an appetizer, or served over cooked rice for a tasty meal.

3 cups ketchup
1 (16 ounce) jar grape jelly
1 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and ground black pepper to taste
3 pounds frozen cooked meatballs

Steps:

  • Stir ketchup and grape jelly together in a large saucepan or Dutch oven over medium heat; cook, stirring, until smooth, about 5 minutes. Stir garlic powder, salt, and pepper into ketchup mixture.
  • Stir meatballs into ketchup mixture; simmer, stirring occasionally, until meatballs are hot and sauce is slightly thickened, about 1 hour.
