MUSHROOM GALETTE image

Yield 6 wedges

1/2 cup butter,softened
4 ounces cream cheese,softened
1 1/4 cups flour
Filling:
8 ounces softened vegetable cream cheese
2 Tablespoons oil
1 Tablespoons butter
2 cups mushrooms,sliced
1/4 cup onion,minced
1 clove garlic,minced
1 Tablespoon worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Steps:

  • Combine 1/2 c butter and 4 ounces cream cheese.Add flour and mix well.Shape into a circle,wrap in plastic wrap and chill while preparing filling. Heat oil and butter until butter melts,add onions,cook 3-4 minutes.Add mushrooms and cook until mushrooms are tender.Add remaining ingredients,cook 1 minute more until liquid has been absorbed.Set aside to cool. Roll out pastry into a 10-12 inch circle,about 1/4 inch thick.Spread vegetable cream cheese to within 1/2 inch of edge.Spoon mushroom mixture on top. Turn pastry edges inward slightly to hold filling in place. Bake 375 degrees until golden brown,about 15 minutes. Cool.Cut into 6 wedges
