Mum's Rice Krispie Squares image

I'm sure this recipe is straight off the box, but I'll post it anyway as it is included in her cookbook and we've been eating them since we were kids :) If it ain't broke - don't fix it!

Number Of Ingredients 4

1/4 c butter or margarine
5 c mini-marshmallows (or 40 regular size)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
6 c rice krispies cereal

Steps:

  • 1. In large saucepan, over low heat, melt margarine, add marshmallows, stir until melted and well blended.
  • 2. Remove from heat. Stir in vanilla, add cereal, stir until coated.
  • 3. Using lightly buttered spatula, press into buttered (13 x 9") pan. Cool and cut into squares.
