Momma Sue's Pizza Burgers image

1 pound ground beef or turkey
1 tablespoon chopped onion
1/2 cup tomato sauce
1/2 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
1/4 teaspoon fennel seed
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
6 Kaiser rolls
1 tablespoon butter
6 slices mozzarella cheese
Aluminum Foil

Steps:

  • Brown ground beef. Add onion, tomato sauce, ketchup, parmesan cheese, fennel and oregano. Stir to blend. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and cook 20 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Slice hard rolls. Spread butter on top halves. Divide meat mixture among bottom halves. Top with cheese and wrap each sandwich in aluminum foil.
  • Bake for 15 minutes.
