MOLASSES CRANBERRY COOKIES image

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. ground ginger
.75 tsp. ground cinnamon
.5 tsp. salt
.5 tsp. ground cloves
.75 cup sugar
.5 cup butter, softened
.25 cup full-flavored molasses
1 egg, slightly beaten
.5 tsp. freshly grated orange peel
.5 cup chopped sweetened dried cranberries
Turbinado (raw) sugar

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, salt and cloves in medium bowl; set aside. 2. Combine sugar and butter in large bowl; beat at medium speed until well mixed. 3. Add molasses, egg and orange peel; continue beating until well mixed. Reduce speed to low, gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in dried, sweetened cranberries. 4. Place turbinado sugar into small bowl. Shape dough into 1.25 inch balls; dip tops into sugar. 5. Place 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 10 to 13 minutes or until set.
