I first had this SINFUL cake 25 years ago at the office where I worked. It was always requested! While it takes quite a while to make (it is worth it - yummy) I do it in two days - the cake the first day - icing the second. After frosting cake needs to cool overnight or several hours before cutting

Steps:
- 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees - grease and flour 3 9 inch cake pans
- 2. Combine candy bars and butter in a heavy saucepan; place over low heat until melted, stirring constantly - set aside
- 3. Combine sugar and shortening; beat until creamy
- 4. Add eggs, and continue beating until light and fluffy - set aside
- 5. Combine flour and salt and set aside
- 6. Combine buttermilk and soda and set aside
- 7. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk mixture, beating well after each addition
- 8. Stir in vanilla and candy bar mixture
- 9. Pour batter into 3 greased and floured 9 inch cake pans. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until done.
- 10. When layers are COMPLETELY cool, frost with Chocolate marshmallow frosting
- 11. INSTRUCTIONS FOR FROSTING
- 12. Combine sugar, milk and butter in a heavy sauce pan; cook over medum heat until a small amount dropped in cold water forms a ball. (maybe 30 minutes)
- 13. Remove from heat, add chocolate pieces and marshmallow cream; stir until melted
- 14. Yield: enough for one 3 layer cake - Cool overnight or a minumum of several hours before cutting so frosting has a chance to set.
