Maryland Deviled Crab image

Number Of Ingredients 14

3 tablespoons margarine or butter
2 tablespoons chopped onions
2 tablespoons , shopped green bell peppers
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 cup milk
8 ounces , cooked crab meat, , drained, flaked (2 cups)
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
1 egg, slightly beaten
1/2 cup soft bread crumbs
2 tablespoons margarine or butter, melted

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 400°F. Lightly grease 1-quart casserole or 4 individual baking dishes or shells. Melt 3 tablespoons margarine in medium saucepan over medium heat. Add onion and bell pepper cook and stir until tender. Stir in flour. Gradually add milk. Cook until mixture boils and thickens, stirring constantly.2. Add all remaining ingredients except bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons margarine mix well. Spoon into greased casserole. In small bowl, combine bread crumbs and 2 tablespoons margarine. Sprinkle evenly over crab mixture.3.
