Number Of Ingredients 7

2 Tbsp reduced calorie margarine, or unsalted butter
1 tsp prepared minced garlic
1 tsp each dried basil, mrs dash
2 Tbsp all purpose flour
1 1/2 c low sodium tomato juice
1 c skim evaporated, or regular skim milk
dash(es) black pepper

Steps:

  • 1. In a medium saucepan melt margarine, and add garlic and herbs
  • 2. sautee over medium heat for 1 minute
  • 3. slowly stir in flour, to make a rue
  • 4. slowly add tomato juice , stirring constantly, boiling until it thickens
  • 5. stir in milk and heat thru, adding pepper to your own taste
  • 6. Calories : 400 Sodium: 475 this is my calculations using a regular soft margarine. I have calculated as best as I could with the nutrition facts on packaging
