Large Pound Cake image

My family loves this Pound Cake recipe! The original recipe came from a friend and then I changed the recipe to enhance the flavor. I am sure you will love it, too. You can add fresh fruit and whipped cream to the cake or eat it plain.

12 large eggs
3 1/2 c white lily flour, all purpose
3 1/2 c sugar, granulated
2 c crisco butter shortening
1/4 tsp cream of tartar
2 tsp vanilla, butter, nut flavoring
1 tsp lemon extract

Steps:

  • 1. Cream sugar and shortening well. Add eggs, one at a time. Add flour after sifting and mix into batter. Add cream of tartar and flavorings.
  • 2. Grease and flour large tube pan. (I use Baker's Joy or Pam Baking Spray.)
  • 3. Bake one and a half to two hours at 325 degrees.
  • 4. After cooking, dust cake with powdered sugar. Serve with your favorite fruit and topping.
