Steps:
- 1. Slice the squash thin with a knife or mandolin and preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- 2. In a pan, add butter and onions.
- 3. Add the sliced squash and saute for 5 minutes.
- 4. Salt and pepper to taste.
- 5. Add cream.
- 6. Add 1 cup of cheese.
- 7. Combine well and let the cheese melt.
- 8. Transfer to a baking dish and top with 1/2 cup of shredded cheese.
- 9. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool before serving.
