Invigorating and Spicy Green Tea image

Try to use true Ceylon cinnamon, for the best aromatics. I cannot drink unsweetened green tea--too bitter. But my friend, Alison, loves it. So Ali-Cat, this one's for you.

4 green tea bags
9 freshly cracked green cardamom pods or 9 white cardamom pods
9 whole white peppercorns
1 cinnamon stick (3 inch length)
4 cups boiling water

Steps:

  • Place tea bags in a prewarmed large teapot and set aside.
  • Place the spices in a 4-cup heatproof measuring cup and add the boiling water; stir to mix, then let the spices infuse for 2 minutes.
  • Quickly pour the infusion into the teapot, straining carefully to prevent the spices from going into the teapot.
  • Steep the tea in the spice infusion for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Strain the brewed tea into teacups and serve immediately.
