Little ones, and teenagers love this pie,even adults! I had clipped this recipe years ago, from a magazine or was it an advertisement! I am not sure where it came from. Number Of Ingredients 13

1/2 c flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 c shortening......i like crisco butter flavored shortening
1/2 c sour cream
******** filling for pie below:
1 lb beef hotdogs.......sliced into 1/2 inch slices
3 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp dry mustard
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
1 dash(es) hot pepper sauce
1 can(s) (16oz ounce can) pork & beans.....your flavor of beans
1 bag(s) cheddar cheese...for topping.

Steps:

  • 1. Heat oven to 425F. Grease and flour of a 9-inch pie plate. Combine all pastry ingredients Stir by hand for 50-60 strokes. Spread thinly on bottom and up the sides of the pie plate. FOR FILLING: Combine cut up hot dogs,brown sugar, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, and canned pork and beans. MIX. Pour into crust. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Remove from oven, and sprinkle cheese over the top. Return to oven bake, just until cheese is melted to your choice. Enjoy...Nancy
