These heart shaped pancakes are always a favorite traditional breakfast for my sweet Valentines!

Number Of Ingredients 7

2 - eggs
2 teaspoon(s) sugar
1 pinch(es) salt
2 cup(s) all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon(s) baking powder
2 cup(s) milk
- red food coloring

Steps:

  • 1. Beat eggs until fluffy; beat in sugar and salt. In a separate bowl, stir flour and baking powder together. Stir milk and flour mixture alternately into eggs, starting and ending with milk.
  • Divide into 2 bowls, to one bowl add red food dye drops (or paste) in order to get the color you wish to have :)
  • Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium high heat. Pour or scoop the batter onto the griddle, using approximately 1/4 cup for each pancake.
  • Cut a heart out of the center of each pancake using a two-inch heart-shaped cookie cutter. Place a red mini-pancake heart in the center of each white pancake and a white mini-pancake heart in the center of each red pancake Serve warm with pure Maple Syrup :)
