Heart-Shaped Meatloaf image

I also like to 'stuff' my meatloaf with grilled onions, mushrooms and/or spinach. Just put half the meat mixture into your pan, top with the stuffing ingredients and then top with the remaining meat mixture. Delish!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 pound(s) ground beef or turkey
1/3 cup(s) oatmeal or bread crumbs
1 teaspoon(s) salt or adobe seasoning
1/2 teaspoon(s) black pepper
1 large egg
1 teaspoon(s) worcestershire sauce
1-2 cup(s) mushrooms, sliced (optional)
1 medium onion, diced (or sliced if using as stuffing)
1-2 cup(s) spinach (optional)
1/3 cup(s) barbecue sauce or ketchup

Steps:

  • Mix all ingredients together in bowl. Place in a heart-shaped baking pan. If you don't have a heart-shaped baking pan, cook the meatloaf first in an 8x8 baking pan so that it holds its shape while in the oven. Then, remove it from the oven and trim it to shape after it's cooked.
  • If you like, saute the mushrooms, onions and spinach in a saute pan first. Then, layer 1//2 of the meatloaf mixture into the pan. Layer the sauted vegetables on top. Then top with the remaining meatloaf mixture.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes.
  • Top/decorate as you like. Use a squirt bottle of ketchup or BBQ sauce to write "I love you" or put a heart shape on top of the meatloaf. Enjoy!
