Hamburger Dorito Casserole image

I compiled a recipe book from recipes that I collected from my "sisters" in the Roseburg Oregon United Pentecostal Church in 1995. Here is one of those recipes that my granddarlins love.

Number Of Ingredients 9

2 lb ground beef
1 large onion diced
4 clove garlic minced
2 Tbsp chili powder
1 bag dorito's
2 can(s) mushroom soup
4 c cheddar cheese
1 med jar(s) herdez medium spiced salsa
1 c milk

Steps:

  • 1. Brown ground beef, onion, garlic and chili powder.
  • 2. Place a layer of Doritos in the bottom of a well greased 9 x 13" baking dish
  • 3. Spread meat mixture over chips and pour both cans of mushroom soup plus 1/2 can of water over the meat mixture.
  • 4. Pour Herdez salsa over the soup layer
  • 5. Repeat layers starting with Doritos again
  • 6. Sprinkle milk over all four sides of mixture and crush some Doritos over the top.
  • 7. Cover with cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes til cheese is melted and mixture is bubbly
