Time 2h15m

Number Of Ingredients 8

1 lb italian pork sausage
1 lb lean ground beef
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
30 oz pizza sauce
mozzarella cheese, shredded
3 long loaves of italian bread or 12 hoagie buns

Steps:

  • 1. Brown the meat in a heavy skillet. Drain off any fat. Empty the pizza sauce into a bowl and stir the spices into it.
  • 2. Pour cooked meat into a crock pot and stir in pizza sauce. Cook on high for 90 minutes to 2 hours stirring about 4 times during cooking process. You can also cook it all day on low heat if that works better for you.
  • 3. Warm the bread or buns, split ladle in half and fill with meat. Top with cheese. Place in a warm oven for a 7 - 10 minutes or until cheese has melted. Cut into serving portions and enjoy.
  • 4. We like to put extras on the table like fresh sliced mushrooms, pepper chine's, green pepper, onion etc. They are also GREAT served with onion rings.
