Time 3h20m

Number Of Ingredients 10

8-9 medium potatoes...peeled & cut to bite size
1 pkg frozen green beans
4-6 medium fresh carrots...scraped & cut bite size
1 large onion chopped .....very small
1-2 Tbsp olive oil
pepper to taste
1 Tbsp b&v ..... beef flavoring
2 c water
1 small parsley.. chopped to add when serving.
2 lb ground beef

Steps:

  • 1. One of the veterans at the Post, is on dialysis. So the potatoes ( peeled and cut up) were put in water overnight. Then drained 3 times in fresh water. To reduce the sodium level. You can use your cut up potatoes the day you start this wonderful recipe.
  • 2. Second day ..in a large skillet add the olive oil, then brown the meat and onions. When cooked drain any grease from the beef mixture..in a colander.
  • 3. Put beef and onions in the crockpot and add the package of frozen green beans, and the cut up potatoes. I added 2 cups of water with the beef flavoring added blended in. Canned beef broth would be to salty! Stir well.
  • 4. Add the cut up carrots, and a couple shakes of black pepper. Stir well. Notice no salt was added. But you can add salt if you wish.
  • 5. Picture of bite size cut up potatoes
  • 6. picture of recipe 1/2 cooked. Watch our added water... you do not want it to be a soup!!
  • 7. Ground beef cooling .. to be bagged and then frozen. Note: I went to the garden to pull some rhubarb , for a pie.. and when I came back in... the house smelled so GOOD.... from the Pot Luck cooking!!...YUMMY!!!! ***Please be sure to see Rose,s "BINKLEY STEW" RECIPE!.....Thank You
