Tri tip is a great cut of meat marinated and grilled. I love Asian cuisine. So, I decided to come up with an Asian inspired marinade. The steak was a welcome change. My family absolutely loves it.

Steps:
- Combine all marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well.reserve a half cup of marinade for basting.
- Place meat in bowl coating all sides.
- Cover and refrigerate for 6-8 hours. Remove from refrigerator. Remove meat from marinade. Pat with paper towel to dry. Salt-and-pepper the meat.
- Heat grill to high heat. Start grilling when temperate hits 500-600 degree's. Try to get a nice char on each side.after first flip. Brush meat on cooked side. Continue flipping and basting top every few minutes. The outside should have blackened some what.
- Grill meat rare to medium rare for the most tender steak. Let steak rest covered with foil 5-10 minutes. Cut on an angle in to slices against the grain. Time to serve.
