Green Beans with Swiss Cheese image

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon flour
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon grated onion
1/2 cup sour cream
2 (16-ounce) cans green beans, drained
1 1/2 cups grated Swiss cheese
1/3 cup cornflakes crumbs
2 tablespoons melted butter

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in saucepan and blend in flour and pepper; cook, stirring until bubbling. Blend in milk. Remove from heat and stir in onion and sour cream. Combine sauce with green beans and cheese. Turn into buttered 1 1/2-quart casserole. Combine cornflakes with melted butter and spread on top. Bake 20 minutes.
