Her fruit loaf always did taste different to everyone else, always special. Now I see the ingredients, I know why. This makes 1 large loaf and 1 small loaf

3/4 pint cold brewed tea
12 ounces sugar
4 ounces apricots, chopped
1 1/4 lbs dried fruit
1 egg, beaten
2 cups self-raising flour (heaped cups)

Steps:

  • Soak the apricots, sugar and dried fruit overnight in the cold tea.
  • Stir in morning.
  • Add egg and flour.
  • Bake 1 1/4 hours at 350°F.
