GRANDMA BANET'S SUGAR COOKIES image

3/4 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup white corn syrup
3/4 tsp cinnamon
3/4 tsp allspice
3/4 tsp cloves
3/4 ginger
1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
2 cups flour

Steps:

  • Mix dry, cut in shortening, add corn syrup and egg, and mix well. Roll into balls the size of walnuts. Bake on parchment paper 10 to 12 minutes. Cool several minutes then dip warm cookies into powder sugar
