Gramma's Hot and Spicy Nacho Dip image

My mother-in-law is an excellent cook. She serves this at family gatherings; it's a hit with everyone who likes hot dip with a bit of fire. This recipe freezes well. I have made it successfully in the crockpot, using pre-cooked burger crumbles.

2 lbs Velveeta cheese
2 (10 ounce) cans Rotel Tomatoes
3 lbs hamburger
1 1/4 ounces taco seasoning

Steps:

  • Dice cheese into 1 inch cubes.
  • Melt cheese with Rotel tomatoes in Dutch Oven.
  • Simmer 1/2 hour.
  • Brown hamburger and mince very small.
  • Drain.(I drain in a colander.).
  • Add 1 cup water and package of taco seasoning.
  • Simmer 1/2 hour.
  • Add hamburger mix to cheese mix and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Serve with Doritos or tortilla chips.
