Several years I took a series of Asian cooking classes and this is one of the soups that we made. It's very simple and tasty.

Steps:
- 1. Bring the stock to a boil.
- 2. Beat the egg whites until frothy.
- 3. Add milk.
- 4. Add corn to the stock and salt to taste.
- 5. When the mixture has returned to a boil, stir in cornstarch mixture.
- 6. Remove from heat and immediately add egg mixture. Stir quickly in one direction to create egg threads in the soup.
- 7. Garnish with ham, shrimp, and/or green onions if desired.
- 8. Serve.
